Not the same

Certain situations just won't be the same. As much as I try to be understanding, it still won't feel the same. The impact of an situation, especially a bad luck affecting the person will not be the same as to others who are trying to help or understand. I can try my best to help, offer sympathy and feel sorry, but I can still move forward soon after. I will not be thinking and worrying about it all the time. Now I realize how naive I was last year. Trying to make my problems into other people problems too. The way I handled things were not something I am proud off. But I guess, you do have to make mistakes to learn from it. 2007 was a tough year but it did teach me well indeed. Learnt when to hold on and when to let go. Learnt what it worth all the trouble and what is not. Learnt what is more important and what is not. Not only myself. I think most of us have grown throughout the years. Especially when studying overseas. Be it in physically, mentally or emotionally, we have grown in one way or another without a doubt. It is good to be able to grow and share the experiences with the close ones p/s: hopefully things will work out well for you, my friend. just breathe for the time being.

The List

Normally is the countdown to the number of exam papers left or countdown to the days of freedom. But this time around, I wasn't counting down any of those. Just having two papers on two consecutive days, nothing much to count down for. Instead, I was counting the number of movies and drama series I have finished since the last day of semester. I think I have watch much more movies/series in this two and half weeks period than the whole semester. Lol. So just gonna list it down for fun. Haha. Movies P/S I Love You What Happen in Vegas Untraceable My Mom's New Boyfriend Training Day Varsity Blue Chasing Liberty The She Found Me Jumper The Bucket List Hacker The Interpreter Underdog Kung Fu Panda Watched in cinema Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Sex and the City TV Series Season finale of: Grey's Anatomy House MD One Tree Hill How I Met Your Mother Season 1 of: Gossip Girls Sex and the City Half way through 60 episods of: The Drive of Life (canto) There were times that I ran of things to watch and just dig out anything I could find. Every trip to IH to download from the intercollege network have been exciting. Haha. A quote from Kung Fu Panda:

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift.

That is why it is called the present

Friends

There will be time when friends surprise you. You will never expect yourself to have so much to discuss about or so much in common with some friends. Until something happen, sometimes it is the unexpected people that you turn to. It is only then you will discover more about your friend. Maybe because you share the same goals or same opinion about something with a not-so-close friend that makes it more comfortable to talk to them. Maybe in this situation, they will understand you more than others. Some friendship grows deeper. Creating a beautiful, genuine connection. Giving more support, sharing more love. It is also sometimes good to talk to an old friend. You might find yourself talking about things that you never talked to them about before. You might have not keep in touch with them for a long time, but you might be surprised how much comfort they can give you. Changes happen with time. Everyone changes. Even friendship changes. Some for the better, some not so. Give everyone a chances and you might be surprise what you will find out.

Continue...

And the busyness continues. It was until the extend of me leaving my laptop at my friend's place as we were having group discussion day and night. There was no point bring my laptop back home as I did not have the time to use it. Hehe. It was just one night though. Then lappie got back to where it belongs. There are four members in my assignment group and all 4 of us are working. So whenever we want to decide when to meet up, we gotta take into consideration each others working hours. As a result, we do not have much flexibility on the timing for discussion. Whenever everyone is free, no one is working or gotta go lab, we meet up straight away. Haha. It is always hilarious seeing us trying to squeeze out time for the group discussion. What makes it more interesting is that out of the 4 members in my group, 2 of teammates' birthday fall on this month. So there are birthday celebrations to organize and attend. Therefore in the midst of all the assignments, breaks in between is what everyone need most.

Rambling about random thoughts

When one claims that he/she understand another person well, how sure are you that you actually understand them well? There may be some underlying issues that is going on with that person that you may not know off. And by claiming that you know the person well, how well is well? Sometimes when one claims that he/she can predict how a person react or feel to a certain situation, how sure are you that you are not actually pressuring them to be like that. Unintentionally, you may confined them to be like that and not allowing them to show the actual side. They will be forced to pretend that everything is alright which the actual fact is not. They have to keep everything to themselves and just afraid that one day they can not take it anymore and explode. They may also be offended by you making such a statement. Do not say that you understand a person well when maybe you only know them around 30%?? Sometimes you may hit the right button but that may not be the case all the time. So do not claim that you understand everything without giving them a chance to explain. Always give a person some space. Note: It is just a thought and not refering to any particular person or situation.

Four months

Four months had passed.
What was supposed to be only for 8 weeks
had lasted longer than expected;
beyond everyone's expectation.
-
Four months had passed.
Much work has been done
but none of the results were promising.
-
Four months had passed.
Cycles after cycles were repeated.
What was once interesting
had lost its appeal.
-
Four months had passed.
Just hoping for the best
hoping that it will end soon.
But nothing is certain;
anything can happen.
-
Four months had passed.
Lessons learnt from it;
patience and perserverance.
-
Four months.

Fellow Bloggers

Friends blogs' are just a good way to keep in touch. To know what is going on with their life, despite not chatting in person, through phone or msn. Feel like still being a part of their life. And then there are those blogs about cooking and recipes. A good way to learn new recipe and they are more do-able compare to 'real' recipes from chefs or cook books. But there are some random blogs that are just interesting. Some people that I barely knew or don't know at all. Things that they write are very attracting. After reading, just feel like wanting to find out that person more. There is something hidden, something mysterious.

Random facts

Got this idea of writing about some of my daily habits while I was brushing my teeth (there's a link to it). Some habits might be well-known and some others not so. It can actually be catogerized. Haha. Okie so here goes the list: In the kitchen 1. I don't have much patience when it comes to cooking. I like quick and fast meals. That's why you can see me opening to the highest temperature of the hotplate (no stove here =( ). For me, there is not much different in cooking a dish quickly with the highest possible temperature or using lower temperature and taking longer time. So the faster the better. 2. Instant noodle. My instant noodle is instant but not all-plain and dull type. I usually add extra ingredients, meat or veges or egg. This is more interesting and a more balance meal (trying to conviencing myself that is healthier this way =P). 3. Baking. Don't know what has gotten into me this semester but I have been baking something almost every week since the beginning of this sem. Let's see what I have made: strawberry cheesecake, portugese egg tarts, blueberry cheesecake, glutinous rice cake, kuih seri muka, banana cake, egg tart and more to come. Not all were successful though but at least I gave it a try. 4. Spicy food. This is my well-known area. Like to cook spicy food and eat them too. No one will ask my opinion about the spiceness of a food because my level of hot is REALLY HOT. Appologies to my housemates as they are always the victim if I cook spicy food. Hee In the bathroom 5. I gotta bath to start my day and also to start my night. If I have not taken a shower, I dont really feel like sitting down and start doing my work. Need to feel all clean first before doing my work. Or more like an excuse to procrastinate a little after dinner. Hehe 6. I am a toothpaste eater. Not literally. I used the most tooth paste in the house. A tube of ~175g can last me for about one and half month. Don't know why. In my room 7. Music. I will usually blast music when I am stress and sing-a-long with the lyrics. Not that I feel much better after singing but just feel like doing it. So when I am blasting my music, there is a reason behind it. 8. Earrings. I have a whole collection of earrings but I reckon there will be others out there who have more. When I was on the winter trip to Korea, guess what I bought the most?? Earrings!! I bought 12 pairs, half for myself and the others as souveniors. And I also finally bought an earring holder that I have wanted for quite long. Not really a surprise I guess, as I received a few pairs of earrings for my birthday last year =P. 9. Bags. Just a coincident that 3 out of 4 of my bags are brown in colour. Is not that I like brown colour in particular, just that all the bags that I like happen to be brown or brown looks the best for that style. 10. Socks. Lucky to study in Queensland as wearing thongs is VERY common here. I just where thongs everywhere I go except for pracs. And I always shop for thongs. Another reason is that I dislike wearing shoes as I gotta wash the socks after. Yeah although all I need to do is just dump it in the washing machine but still... This is all I can think off right now. So, anyone has any other facts about me to add, just feel free. I might not realize that is a habit of me until someone pointed it out. Haha
